Seems like every time I log on to the internet, there's news about some completely unnecessary remake of a great (or, in many cases, mediocre-to-bad) film from the last four decades. The Taking of Pelham 123? Why mess with a minor classic? Escape From Witch Mountain? Why, period? I know it's part of that whole "easier to pitch an old idea than a new one," thing, but you couldn't get me to watch those with a gun to my head.
But as always, there are exceptions to the rule. I have written in the past about my affection for/fascination with Black Devil Doll From Hell, a truly warped artifact of low-budget 1980s horror cinema. My friend Byronne recently brought to my attention that some freak (and I mean that in a good way) named Shawn Lewis has actually decided to remake/update this fine flick — and unlike most contemporary horror remakes (a la Texas Chainsaw Massacre), which pile on the gore and special effects while losing the soul of the original, Lewis is keeping the low-budget absurdity of the first BDDFH intact while amping up the sex considerably. In other words, this is one remake I would actually pay good money to watch...
Oh yeah, here's the profoundly NSFW trailer — "He's a muthafuckin' puppet," indeed..
Oh my fucking god. THANK YOU for this!

That's cool that we are able to get the loan moreover, this opens up completely new opportunities.
